Welcome to Brendon's Place- as I am travelling these days I thought it best to have a virtual home to invite people round for a coffee and catch up on life.  I have been in local government for 21 years now, far too long and have recently left to get more involved in international development and church mission. 

In March 2012 I shall be visiting Sierra Leone for ten days.  I am going with two friends from Holy Trinity Brompton, London, the home of Alpha, Tom and Shenali.  We shall be working with a local church minister called Joseph to look at how Alpha can be interpreted locally and rolled out across the country.  We shall be helping 80 church leaders to do this.  If you would like to contribute to helping Alpha grow in Sierra Leone then please visit our Just Giving page-  Sierra Leone all gifts welcome no matter how large or small.

Following my visit to Sierra Leone, I am off to spend some time in South Africa with the Uniting Presbyterian Church of South Africa UPCSA. I am planning to spend some time investigating their approach to vision, values and approach to mission. I am hoping to visit churches across South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
